Paul Cocksedge Studio is the London based practice of directors Paul Cocksedge and Joana Pinho.  Their work ranges from architectural projects, to design products, to sculptures.  They are known for their innnovative designs, reinforced by research into the limits of technology, materials and manufacturing processes.  Poised is one of Paul Cocksedge Studio’s creations- inspired by the agility of paper.  The table began with the idea of rolling a sheet of steel to a point just short of where it could not actually exist as a table.  The simple and sleek design of Poised led the design team to an intensive process of calculations regarding central gravity, mass and equilibrium.

Designed for the 2014 Interior Design Show in Toronto, blackLAB architects has created the Origami Bench to express their creativity in elegant seating.  The Origami Bench is constructed from white laminate covered baltic birch plywood and connected with piano hinges.  Geometric planes fold on hinges and rest on tubular steel legs.  BlackLAB Architects is based out of Toronto, ON.
